Lubna Farooq was born and raised in India and migrated to the United States after she got married and now lives in Chicago with her husband. She has three grown children who also reside in the USA. Growing up in India, she witnessed the difficulties faced by the poor and the underprivileged and how her parents always supported them with utmost humility and kindness. Her father’s wise words “Don’t ever think that “you” helped someone in need; Be thankful that God chose you as the medium to deliver His help to those in need” had a profound effect in shaping her approach to life. On a personal level, she strived to support the less fortunate, but always felt that she could not make a substantial impact due to her demanding career. She left her corporate career to dedicate her time to serve the community and founded LEAN Foundation USA.

Lubna Farooq has held several executive management positions in the Financial Industry across the globe and is well versed with different cultures. She has served as an Executive/Board member of a non-profit organization for 13+ years. She has also actively served on various committees, and is an active participant in Interfaith events and activities.
